Villa Corthout, 2001

In Villa Corthout, a boy (holding a guitar) is sitting on the spring-board of a swimming-pool. A girl in a bathing suit is seen as she has just stepped out of the water. The boy is playing a soft tune on his guitar. Divested of plot and narrative, Villa Corthout blurs the boundaries between an invented and an observed situation, between documentary and fiction.
